Explain your career path—how did you become an HR Admin?
As an educator for over a decade, my enthusiasm centers on delving into diverse subjects. After teaching for five years, I realized my interest in transitioning to Human Resources. The complexities of business, coupled with the opportunity to facilitate individuals' growth and advancement, intrigue me, rendering Human Resources a compelling avenue for transition.
Can you describe your personal self?
I have a passion for organization, coordination, training, and development. Guiding others to achieve their goals brings me joy. Coming from a sports background, with family members competing at collegiate levels, competitiveness and the drive for improvement are deeply ingrained in me.
What are your top personal values and how do you apply those to your work?
My core values include accountability, adaptability, integrity, kindness, and respect. I apply these values at work by managing my tasks efficiently and completing them promptly. I remain composed under pressure and assist my colleagues when necessary. Sometimes priorities shift unexpectedly, or unforeseen tasks arise, and I excel at adapting to these changes swiftly and effectively.
Why did you choose to come to The Launch Box?
I decided to join The Launch Box to kickstart my career in Human Resources. When I noticed they had a part-time opening, I took the opportunity. I feel fortunate to have been given a chance with the company and have already gained valuable knowledge. I am looking forward to what the future holds.
What is a common misconception you hear about HR?
The common misconception about Human Resources is that it mainly involves paperwork and overseeing adults. In reality, it encompasses coordinating, managing, and effectively utilizing human capital (employees) to advance an organization's objectives. Human Resource Management (HRM) emphasizes investing in employees, ensuring their well-being, and overseeing all staffing aspects from recruitment to training and compensation. The diverse and multifaceted nature of HR offers various career paths, making it a profession that guarantees continuous engagement and prevents boredom.
What is the most fulfilling part of your role at TLB?
The most rewarding aspect of being part of The Launch Box is the opportunity to delve into various areas of learning. Exploring the inner workings and operations of different processes is fascinating. Additionally, the supportive team fosters a strong sense of teamwork and work ethic, distinguishing the firm from others.
What about the future of TLB are you most excited about?
I am excited about the direction the firm is moving. The innovative ideas being implemented and the collaborative spirit among the team members have truly set the tone for success. I am also eager to apply my skills in aiding the Human Resources Department.
