Explain your career path—how did you become a Growth Marketing Specialist?
Right after graduating from college, I started my career in sales, but soon after transitioned into marketing, specializing in user acquisition and retention. That's when I realized my love for the startup environment, helping these companies kick off or expand in the market. And that's how I became a growth marketing specialist for startups—finding my true passion along the way.
Can you describe your personal self?
I'm an optimistic and curious person who enjoys exploring new ideas and experiences. I have a passion for learning and growing, both personally and professionally. Creativity is a big part of who I am, whether it's through writing, problem-solving, or finding innovative solutions to challenges. I value kindness and authenticity in myself and others, and I’m someone who seeks to find joy in the little things.
What are your top personal values and how do you apply those to your work?
My top personal values are transparency, collaboration, and adaptability.
Transparency: In my work, I prioritize ethical decision-making and strive to maintain transparency in all my actions and interactions, to build trust and credibility.
Collaboration: Teamwork is something I deeply value. I love working with others, sharing ideas, and learning from different perspectives. I actively seek out opportunities to collaborate with my colleagues. I believe that together, we can achieve more and create a supportive and inclusive work environment.
Adaptability: I understand how important it is to be flexible in today's fast-paced world. I'm always ready to embrace change, whether it's a new idea, a shift in priorities, or an unexpected challenge.
Why did you choose to come to The Launch Box?
I decided to join The Launch Box because it resonates with what I value in my career. I was looking for a shift from in-house to agency-style work while remaining connected to the startup environment that I love. What excites me the most is the chance to contribute not only to The Launch Box itself but also to the growth and success of the companies in its portfolio. I'm eager to learn from a team of experts in marketing and growth, and I see this opportunity as a chance to expand my skills and make a meaningful impact in the industry.
What is a common misconception you hear about Growth Marketing?
One common misconception I often hear about Growth Marketing is that it's solely focused on acquiring new customers or users. While customer acquisition is certainly a key aspect of growth marketing, it's only one piece of the puzzle. Growth Marketing encompasses a much broader scope, including activities aimed at retaining existing customers, increasing engagement and loyalty, optimizing conversion rates, and driving overall business growth. It's about creating sustainable growth strategies that encompass the entire customer lifecycle, from acquisition to retention and beyond.
What is the most fulfilling part of your role at TLB?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a growth marketing specialist at The Launch Box is supporting our founders as they grow their startups. It's incredibly fulfilling to be part of their journey, sharing my expertise in marketing and growth to help them achieve their goals. Seeing others succeed and knowing that I played a role in their success brings me a lot of joy. Plus, building relationships with founders and learning from their experiences is incredibly motivating. It's a collaborative process where we all learn and grow together.
What about the future of TLB are you most excited about?
I'm excited about the impact we're having in the startup ecosystem by facilitating connections among the founders in our portfolio. We're just not helping businesses grow; we're building relationships and a network that will continue to grow and evolve over time.
